Sometimes there are things out there that just grab your attention, but yet don’t make sense at a first glance. Today i discovered 3D-browser called uBrowser.
It’s cool. My browser loaded up fine with javascripts. I was able to select text from the page while it was animated like a flag. So some people may not get it. What is the big deal? This would never be used would it? What purpose behind it? Well, i don’t know!
I saw it, touch it and feel it and it’s getting closer and closer..
After few month survey and reviewed, i think i’ve make a decision of what type/model DSLR should i buy!
It’s very hard to choose which DSLR is best for me! Firstly, aiming for Nikon D200 or Canon 20D/30D but it’s damn expensive.. totally rejected!.. Then looking for Nikon D70s or Canon 350D which i think it’s on my budget
Today i bought this book from katy mills.

For a first step into the digital world, this book was helpful to me. The best part of this book is not the chapters in the front that introduce me to the D70s. The real value comes from the photographic basics and guidance on applying those basics. I also liked the section on choosing lenses.
Saturday
Nothing much activities this weekend. Just went to a Houston Museum and Zoo.
what??... ZOO? heheh!
Actually we planned to go to corpus christi or dallas but we changed the plan. So, this week just go somewhere nearby in our area.
1st, We went to Houston Museum Of Natural Science. I like it, but special exibitions are usually too expensive and not worth it… it cost around 25 bucks a person…so we just take a basic package (8.50) that allowed us to tour limited area only! OK la…

Having lunch at Thai restaurant. WOW! feel like in malaysia. The taste of tomyam is really2 good and spicy!... i took two bowl of tomyam. 2 thumb up! Still early to go back to apartment, so we deciced to go to Houston zoo. And as expected all zoo’s does the same thing.. frustrated coz i cannot see the gorilla
and seriously if you go there you notice that the people are uglier than the animals. it also smells.

The only thing i like in this zoo
Next, we went to The Galleria ( the biggest shopping center in houston ) ..err actually the most expensive shopping center
. Honestly, it’s just a mall. But it’s a really terrific one. It doesn’t have a movie theater but it has an iceskating rink. It doesn’t have great prices most of the time, but it has great selection of stores. It’s a great place if you enjoy the consumer thing.
Drop by at Malay Cafe for dinner before going back to apartment and zzzZZZ.. too tired!
The woman who decided almost seven years ago that she could put up with me for the rest of her life. She has inspired me to grow, stretch and become a better man than I had ever thought I wanted to be, let alone could be, and all by doing nothing more than being who she is and loving me with all her heart. My life with her is a source of pride and I’m honored and flattered that she believes in me.
Happy birthday, Zureen! I love you more than I could ever express in words alone.
A Blog Without Comments is Still a Blog
Blogger’s Blog writes “A Blog Without Comments is Still a Blog”
I agree. Most people blogging today and even some of them run big blog networks don’t even remember what the first blog even looked like. Comments do add value to the blog, to the conversation, but they aren’t the blog and they aren’t the conversation.
Each blog has it’s own voice and style. Comments can make a break a good blog though, so if you decide not to have them at least think about how it might impact the site. The hardest part is always removing them after they’ve been there a while. It’s hard to say you don’t want comments at the start. I mean, how can you know if it will get unwieldy?

I took this picture from lanie blog.

( Gelak dulu… hahahaha )
This is the day i’m waiting for!. Team Building :Fishing trip in Galveston Bay
Woke-up early at 3.30am ( my mistake setting alarm, suppose 4.30am)..too excited!Meet at office at 6am then start moving to Galveston Bay ( an hour journey). Feel like i’ll catching a big fish today.

Anyway it’s a nice trip, apart fishing we’re arrange other activities and it was really2 fun and motivated us!
I woke-up early yesterday to watch the Bahrain F1 GP. ( 4am localtime here)
WTF! There is no live on TV and just realise that they(house owner) only subscribe ESPN for sport channel. So, no choice just watching it from internet ler.. “text based commentator”.
Uwaaaa…. i miss 4 F1 GP this year!
Go kimi go!.. go Mclarens.
This is my first weekend here. We planned to go to Austin (Capital of Texas) to visit few places likes Hamilton Pool, Travis Dam and shopping at San Marcus. Having a breakfast at I-Hop first, then start moving to Austin at 9.30am. It took about 2 1/2hour drive. I’m luckly as i will not driving to go there and back ( No insurance to drive that car yet!)
The journey a bit bored, seeing the same view and landscape but it doesn’t stop us to snap lots of photos all the way (i took almost 250 photos til my battery gone)
Hamilton Pool
Hamilton Pool is one of the coolest places to hang out in the Austin area. A beautiful place in Travis County Park, it’s an underground cave that collapsed thousands of years ago, leaving a half dome-shaped ledge that covers part of the pool and 30 feet waterfall. About 0.3 mile from parking area, we took step hike down to the pool. This is the most beautiful thing i have seen in Texas so far.

Travis Lake & Mansfield Dam
We knew we wouln’t have much time, and that we would need to get some lunch in so we decided to head out to Lake Travis. We stopped at one of lake restaurants, ‘Oasis restaurant’. The restaurant is located 500 feet above Lake Travis and the scenery was damn very2 beautiful

Austin city & San Marcos
We went to the downtown after lunch. It’s a great and awesome city, fun to just walk around. Been there for just about 1 hour visiting the federal building and park. The entrance to enter the building is closed at 5.30pm so we just in time, managed to go to main area in the building. Great office but the Putrajaya building is more and more beautiful. Macam langit dan bumi bezanya!
Our last destination is San Marcus, the biggest shopping mall in Texas. This place is very damn bigger then i expected. For about 2 hours (walk and shopping), we just only spend half of the area. fuhh! One of the famous shop here is NIKE (crowded like crazy!).
So, guess how much i spend my $$$ here?
Jet lag! I hate jet lag.
Imagine enduring a 8 hour connecting flight to Houston and spending 17 hours in the flight dragging me halfway around the world . I’m not normally a morning person so i get a completely different outlook when i’m jet-lagged. The first 3 days giving me lots of problem..i can’t sleep at night until 3-4am. I don’t feel the jet lag in the morning and still feeling great until around 4pm, started to feel tired and 5pm is the peak that i would quit from anything to fall asleep.
Luckily jet lag appear slowly from the fourth day
I’m not having problem with food here coz the seafood here is damn cheaper than malaysia (heheh no laa.. as long i can claim back the bill, i don’t care!) and i always take shrimp, crap, fish and oyster as my main course. Today we found malaysian restoran called “Malay Cafe”. I think the owner is malaysian chinese and they serve malay foods like nasi lemak, roti canai, rojak, rendang, sate, kangkung masak belacan, koew teow goreng, kari and bubur kacang hitam.
The service is excellent, which it’s unlike most of the malaysian restaurants
Overall ….I would definitely visit again and again!

kangkung masak belacan, udang pedas and chinese tea!

To prove that we have been here!
